General Information
Drexel is a 4th class city with a population of approximately 1090 people. City Hall hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
City License Tags for dogs and cats are required to be purchased and displayed on the animal's collar immediately after residence is established and each January 1 thereafter. Drexel has a Leash Law. All dogs and cats must be penned or leashed. Also it is prohibited to own American Pit Bull, Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, or Rottweiler in the City of Drexel. Tags may be obtained at City Hall with verification of vaccination.
Recreation Permit required to be purchased for City Lake Recreation. Obtain at City Hall
Zoning -- The city is mapped out into various residential, business and industrial zones.
Building Permits are required for any building or construction costing more than $500 or where wall or structural changes are made. Obtain application at City Hall
Peddlers and Solicitors Ordinance -- Ask to see City permit of any peddler, solicitor, seller or agent from outside our trade area. Such City Permit will identify bearer and state that he and his firm have been checked for relability and be signed by City Clerk Kara Smith. There is a $20 per day fee for the permit.
Utilities -- Water and Sewer are City owned. Statements mailed and are due and payable
by the 20th of each month at City Hall. There is a night deposit on the east side of the building for

Taxes -- City and Cass County taxes are due and payable to the County Collector at Harrisonville, MO each November 1 through December 31. Statements mailed. Taxpayer's responsibility to see Collector. Bates County City and County taxes due and payable to Township Collector November 1 through December 31. Statements mailed. Taxpayer's responsibility to see Collector.
